Selling into Europe or seeing an EPR verification request from a marketplace? Start with the product or waste stream and destination country—not with a generic “EU EPR package.”
Extended Producer Responsibility routes depend on the product or waste stream, destination country, legal entity and producer role. XrdaGrid separates the underlying national obligation from marketplace proof or reactivation and from commercial provider services, so you can identify the right route before paying for help.

Start with the EPR stream
Packaging EPR
Use this route when packaging or packaged goods are placed on a national market and packaging producer-responsibility rules may apply. Registration and scheme arrangements are country-specific; one packaging registration does not automatically cover Europe.
Battery EPR
Use this route for batteries or battery-containing products where national registration, producer-responsibility, representation, reporting or marketplace evidence may apply. Battery registration is implemented by Member State rather than through one universal EU registration.
Textile EPR
Netherlands route. Current XrdaGrid textile coverage is specific to the Netherlands. It addresses foreign-seller role tests, individual or collective compliance routes, authorised-representative questions and managed registration support. It does not imply that Dutch textile EPR applies EU-wide.
Marketplace asking for EPR evidence?
Start with the exact marketplace message. A rejected number, an offer restriction and an underlying registration duty are different problems.
Zalando packaging verification
Use when Zalando cannot match or verify packaging registration information. Diagnose the packaging EPR verification route.
Zalando battery restriction
Use when battery-related offers are restricted and the account requests EPR evidence. Open the battery EPR reactivation route.
Zalando still blocked
Use after registration details have been submitted but the offer remains restricted. Follow the reactivation checklist.
Amazon Ireland packaging ERN
Use when Amazon Ireland requests packaging EPR registration evidence or an EPR registration number. Check the Amazon Ireland evidence route.
Marketplace proof is not the same as the legal duty
Underlying EPR route
The national system determines whether a producer role, registration, scheme participation, reporting or representation requirement applies for the relevant country and waste stream.
Marketplace verification route
The marketplace checks the evidence and account data in its own workflow. A number that Zalando cannot verify is not necessarily legally invalid; a regulator registration does not guarantee automatic marketplace validation. Amazon requesting an identifier does not create the underlying legal obligation.
Which EPR route do you actually need?
- Identify the destination country where the product is placed on the market.
- Identify the product or waste stream: packaging, batteries, textiles or another regulated category.
- Identify the legal entity placing the product on that market.
- Determine whether that entity is the producer or another obligated party for the route in question.
- Find the applicable national registration or registry process.
- Check how the national route treats a producer responsibility organisation.
- Check how the country-and-stream rule treats local representation.
- Only then address marketplace evidence, remediation or provider selection.
Use Packaging EPR Country by Country, EPR Registration Number vs PRO Fees and Authorised Representative for EPR to resolve those distinctions.
Registration number, PRO, representative or provider?
- Registration number: an identifier issued or recorded through the relevant national regulator or registry route.
- Producer responsibility organisation (PRO): a collective or scheme route that may perform specified producer-responsibility functions. Its necessity and scope depend on the country and stream.
- Authorised representative: a locally established entity appointed where the controlling EPR rule requires or permits representation. It is not automatically the same as a PRO.
- Provider or consultant: a commercial service that may help with one or more steps, but is not automatically the regulator, PRO or legal representative.
Confirm the written mandate, territory, waste stream and actual services before treating any commercial package as a complete route.
🇳🇱 Netherlands Textile EPR
The Netherlands route is deliberately country-specific. Current XrdaGrid coverage helps foreign sellers identify the producer-role test, covered textiles, individual or collective compliance routes, authorised-representative questions and managed registration options.
- Determine foreign-seller obligations
- Review the direct registration-service route
- Compare Netherlands textile EPR providers
Dutch textile registration does not satisfy packaging or battery obligations and does not establish coverage in another EU market.
Before you pay an EPR provider
Define the assignment first. A provider cannot price the right route reliably if the country, stream and obligated entity are still unclear.
- Confirm the destination country and waste stream.
- Identify the obligated legal entity and check whether registration already exists.
- Determine whether an authorised representative or PRO relationship is required.
- Check for historical declarations, back-reporting or an existing scheme account.
- Capture the exact marketplace message and the data it is trying to verify.

These provider categories are not interchangeable. XrdaGrid does not rank providers on this hub, and no provider is described here as approved, preferred or a partner.
How XrdaGrid handles EPR routes
We separate current law and registry requirements from marketplace workflows and commercial provider claims. Detailed pages identify their jurisdiction, evidence and review date; provider comparisons use documented criteria independent of commission. Read the methodology and editorial policy.
XrdaGrid provides general informational content and does not replace advice for your product, legal entity, destination market or marketplace account.
