Best FDA Registration Services: Compare by Program and Scope

Last reviewed August 24, 2026. FDA fees, provider prices and terms can change; confirm current details before purchasing.

The short version

The best FDA registration service depends on the program you actually need. Food, medical-device, drug and cosmetic registrations are separate systems with different fees, cycles and U.S.-agent rules.

JurisdictionUnited StatesFederal scope

Start with the free government route. FDA charges no fee to register a food facility, and it does not require food facilities to use a private registrar. Paid FDA registration services sell administrative help, U.S.-agent coverage, renewal tracking and support—not approval.

Quick verdict

Start here

Narrow food package

CENIT Consulting

Granular public menu

FDA Entry Point

Publishes separate starting prices across food, drug, cosmetic and device workflows.

There is no single “FDA registration”

Do not compare providers until you identify the correct FDA program. A food-facility service and a medical-device service can have similar marketing language while covering entirely different obligations.

Cosmetics under MoCRACosmetic facility registration and responsible-person product listingNo fee stated for FDA’s Cosmetics Direct submissionsFacility registration biennial; product listing updated annually

The medical-device establishment registration fee is $11,423 for FY2026 (October 1, 2025–September 30, 2026) and $13,785 for FY2027. FDA states there are no small-business waivers or reductions for this annual establishment fee.

See our guide to FDA facility registration versus product listing before buying a bundle that mixes the two.

The free FDA route comes first

  1. Identify the exact program and legal role of the facility or business.
  2. For food facilities, use FDA Industry Systems to register, update or renew directly. The FDA filing fee is $0.
  3. If the food facility is foreign, designate a U.S. agent. FDA treats payment for that role as a private matter between the facility and the agent.
  4. For a 2026 food renewal, file between October 1 and December 31. FDA currently recognizes DUNS as an acceptable Unique Facility Identifier.
  5. Pay for outside help only when its defined scope is worth more to you than completing and monitoring the filing yourself.

A broker or trader that does not manufacture, process, pack or hold food may not be the facility that must register. Confirm the responsible establishment before purchasing a service.

What a paid FDA registration service can—and cannot—do

A service may provideA service cannot provide
Form preparation and administrative submissionFDA approval, clearance or endorsement
A U.S. agent for a foreign facilityGuaranteed acceptance by FDA or a marketplace
Renewal reminders and correspondence monitoringA government-issued food registration certificate
Language support and help correcting recordsOne registration that substitutes for every FDA program

The certificate problem

FDA explains that food facilities do not need a registration certificate, that FDA does not issue one, and that FDA does not recognize a private certificate as an FDA certificate. A registrar may create its own confirmation document for commercial use, but that document is not issued or endorsed by FDA.

Do not pay for a “certificate of FDA registration” believing it is a government credential. Registration and listing are administrative records; neither means that FDA approved the facility or its products.

FDA registration services compared by scope

These rows are not equivalent packages, so XrdaGrid does not label one provider “cheapest” or “best overall.” Public figures below are provider service prices reviewed August 24, 2026. Government fees are shown separately.

How to choose a provider

  • Name the program. “FDA registration” alone is not a sufficient scope.
  • Separate government and service fees. Food facility registration is free at FDA; medical-device establishment registration is not.
  • Confirm the U.S.-agent term. Ask whether it is included, for how long, and what renewal costs.
  • Match the facility and product category. Specialized foods, multiple sites, devices, drugs and cosmetics need different workflows.
  • Get refund and cancellation terms in writing. “Not published” does not necessarily mean unavailable.
  • Ask who issued any certificate. A provider certificate is not an FDA certificate.

If a marketplace triggered the request

A marketplace request is a separate platform problem. Use the matching workflow for TikTok Shop dietary supplements and missing FDA facility registration, TikTok Shop OTC or medicated cosmetics and FDA/NDC documents, or TikTok Shop food and FDA registration proof.

Frequently asked questions

Does FDA charge a fee to register a food facility?

No. FDA states that food facility registration is free. Any amount charged by a private service for that filing pays for the provider’s work, not an FDA registration fee.

Do I have to use a registrar to register a food facility?

No. FDA does not require a food facility to use a private registrar. A foreign food facility must separately designate a U.S. agent.

Does FDA issue a food facility registration certificate?

No. FDA issues a registration number but does not issue or recognize a private registration certificate as an FDA certificate.

Does FDA registration mean FDA approval?

No. Registration and listing do not mean that FDA approved, cleared or endorsed a facility or product.

How much is the medical-device establishment registration fee?

FDA lists $11,423 for FY2026 and $13,785 for FY2027. This is the annual government establishment fee, separate from a provider’s service charge, and FDA provides no small-business waiver or reduction for it.

Which FDA registration service is cheapest?

There is no honest universal answer because the services cover different programs and scopes. Compare the exact program, U.S.-agent coverage, government fee, renewal term and refund terms.

When does a food facility renew its registration?

Food facilities renew biennially between October 1 and December 31 of each even-numbered year. The next window is October 1 through December 31, 2026.
